Meet Dr. Ridha
Our Visionary-in-Chief at Seas
Ridha is the CEO and Co-Founder of Seas, leading the charge in reimagining cybersecurity from the ground up. With over 30 years of experience in secure software systems and network architecture, he’s the mind behind SEASecure and the driving force behind our mission to make digital infrastructure safer, smarter, and stronger. A tenured professor at McMaster University and a member of the CANARIE Cybersecurity Technical Committee, Ridha brings deep academic roots and real-world impact to every challenge. Whether he’s mentoring emerging tech talent or building the next big breakthrough, Ridha leads with clarity, curiosity, and a relentless focus on engineering excellence. When he’s not securing digital frontiers, you can find Ridha in his garden—nurturing tomatoes, herbs, and ideas with equal care.
Meet Hamza
Our Deep-Tech Navigator
As SEAS’s Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer, Hamza steers innovation at the intersection of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. A researcher and engineer with a passion for building intelligent, autonomous security systems, he led the design of SEAS’s patented micro-segmentation platform, transforming advanced academic research into a real-world defense solution.
Before co-founding SEAS, Hamza contributed to multiple AI and data-driven projects, building analytics pipelines and integrating machine learning into enterprise products. He earned recognition through programs like Mitacs Lab2Market, securing commercialization funding and leading deep-tech validation efforts. Currently pursuing his PhD in Computer Science at McMaster University, Hamza combines academic rigor with startup agility to keep SEAS at the forefront of cybersecurity innovation.
When he’s not working, Hamza likes to do calming things where he doesn’t have to use his brain too much. You’ll probably find him going for a walk, fishing, watching random science or history videos, or reading about things he doesn’t fully understand yet. He enjoys exploring new topics just for fun, even when they have nothing to do with his work.
Meet Waqar
Our Financial Compass
As SEAS’s Chief Financial Officer, Waqar is the steady hand that keeps our financial course true. With over three decades of international experience in banking, advisory, and technology risk, he ensures that SEAS’s growth is guided by sound strategy, transparency, and foresight. His expertise spans operational risk, e-banking security, and digital transformation, grounding our innovation in financial stability and governance excellence. Waqar’s career has taken him from senior leadership role at KPMG Canada to major commercial banks in the Middle East, where he led large-scale IT audit and advisory programs for global clients. An MBA graduate from Cornell and holder of multiple certifications (CGEIT, CRISC, CISA, CIA), he brings both analytical precision and executive perspective to SEAS’s leadership team. Calm under pressure and methodical by nature, Waqar ensures our ship remains steady, even in turbulent markets. Outside the office, Waqar can be found traveling, sampling local cuisines, and exploring new technologies, proving he can still keep up with the young innovators on deck.
Meet Wen
Our Secure Code Maestro
Wen is our Software Development & Information Security Manager and when it comes to building secure, high-performance systems, she’s the one you want leading the charge. With 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity and formal software development, Wen brings a steady hand, sharp mind, and a love for elegant architecture to everything she builds. Before joining Seas, Wen was a university professor and tech consultant, helping teams in transportation and telecom engineering safety-critical systems. Now, she’s using that same level of precision and care to help Seas ship secure, scalable products. When she’s not writing code or mentoring devs, Wen is likely baking up a storm in the kitchen or reaching new heights and enjoying a hike in nature.
